Beer-BQ Beef Short Ribs

  • 4 to 5 pounds beef chuck short ribs
  • 2 (12-ounce) cans beer
  • 1 bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce
1. Trim any excess fat from ribs and place in a Dutch oven or large cooking pot. Add the beer to cover ribs. Bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours or until fork-tender.
2. Prepare outdoor grill with medium coals, or heat gas grill to medium.
3. Place ribs on grill; brush with barbecue sauce.
4. Grill, covered, turning often and brushing with barbecue sauce, for about 15 minutes or until crisped
5. Heat any remaining barbecue sauce and serve with ribs.

Beer-Grilled Chops

"Oktoberfest, Super Bowl, tailgate party, or sports night - these chops take on the hops!"
  • 4 boneless pork chops, about 3/4-inch thick, trimmed
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar, unpacked
  • 2 tsp grated ginger root
  • 1 cup beer
Place chops in a self-sealing plastic bag; add soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and beer. Seal bag. Gently massage bag to evenly distribute marinade ingredients. Refrigerate 4 to 24 hours.

Prepare medium-hot coals in kettle-style grill. Remove chops from the marinade and discard marinade. Place chops on grill directly over coals. Cover grill and grill for 10 minutes, turning once.

Sauerkraut Beer Brats

  • 6 uncooked bratwurst
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sauerkraut
  • 1 (12-ounce) can beer
  • 6 hot dog buns, warmed

Puncture each bratwurst with a fork.

Drain sauerkraut, placing the liquid in a large resealable plastic storage bag; add the beer to the bag. Add brats to bag, and seal.

Cover and store drained sauerkraut in the refrigerator while brats marinate in the refrigerator for 3 to 6 hours.

Grill, broil, or fry brats for 10 to 15 minutes, or until no pink remains in the center. Serve with drained sauerkraut on warmed hot dog buns.
